Dr Avril Lumley Prior developed an interest in Anglo-Saxon history during her childhood in Sunderland and since being in Peterborough has turned her attention to Mercian studies. Avril attained an MA and a PhD on historically-based subjects, and has conducted local research with the Peakirk Archaeological Survey Team. Her exploration of local mineral water suppliers was undertaken with her late husband, Greg, and will be published soon.
