There are clearly difficult budget decisions to make but all too often stated priorities such as culture and the environment are ignored. Unfortunately, available grant funding made available via the “Towns Fund” scheme was quickly steered away from meaningful projects such as a museum extension towards vanity projects such as an over-expensive new footbridge over the Nene.
