More than 30 members of the Fane Road Archaeology Group (FRAG) helped dig a series of test pits across the allotment site at Fane Road.
Most of the 2m x 1m trenches reached “natural” geology within 600mm with few finds of interest. Only those nearer the villa site produced more significant amounts of pot.
