There are opportunities to get involved with geophysics and with excavation this summer. Local societies are looking for volunteers.
Whilst our May dig at Fane Road was postponed the good news is that this allows Kev Redgate to continue his project at Alconbury Weston under the auspices of the Sawtry History Society. This will involve extending the resistivity survey already undertaken. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to learn the basics of geophysics or to build experience.
In August, the Oundle based archaeology group, MidNAG, is returning to a fascinating site above Nassington.
Since 2016 FRAG members have been working with MidNAG to explore a large Roman barn and its surroundings.
The two week excavation provides an ideal opportunity for both novice and experienced diggers.
