SUMMARY:Gleanings: the art of the past
DESCRIPTION:A beautiful collection of art by Rose Ferraby. \nThis free exhibition at Peterborough Museum is a visual celebration of the archaeological landscapes of Britain. \nThrough painted collages and prints Rose uncovers the subtle and shifting stories held within monuments\, earth layers and buried remains. Her work displays fragments of evidence and imagination\, inviting visitors to see familiar landscapes in new and unexpected ways – from secretive peatlands to dynamic coastlines. \nThe exhibition includes new pieces inspired by East Anglia’s rich archaeological heritage and by the remarkable collections housed at the museum. \nSelected artworks will also be available to purchase. \nAlongside Rose Ferraby’s artwork\, visitors will have the opportunity to view artefacts from Peterborough Museum’s Must Farm Collection

SUMMARY:APRIL FRAG TALK & AGM CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:APRIL FRAG TALK & AGM CANCELLED \nDue to unforeseen circumstances\, our speaker for this evening\, Jason Cumberworth\, has had to cancel and with such short notice we’ve been unable to get a replacement speaker\, despite many calls\, and much scurrying by the committee. The AGM will also be pushed back to the May talk session. \nOur sincerest apologies\, but Julie and Tamsin will be there anyway if anyone fancies a chat and a coffee or tea\, possibly a biscuit. \nFRAG Annual General Meeting – PLUS: \nDone and Dusted – A Follow-Up to ‘Dusting Off the Archives’ \nWe’re delighted to welcome back Jay Cumberworth BA (Hons) ACIfA\, Archaeology Project Officer at Peterborough Museum. \nJay will be bringing us up to date with all things Archaeology at Peterborough Museum. \nThe latest acquisitions\, along with a follow-up on the Peterborough Archaeological Archive Enhancement Project (PAAEP) which some of us have been involved in over the years and won the award for Excellence from the Society for Museum Archaeology (SMA). \nHe’ll also be sharing more about ‘My Must Farm’\, a soon to be permanent display showcasing some of the remarkable Must Farm artefacts. \nAs if that wasn’t enough\, Jay will give us a glimpse into some intriguing upcoming projects — sure to surprise and delight\, and it’s probably not what you might expect! \nPeterborough Museum has recently been awarded a £250\,000 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to support a two-year initiative centred on the internationally significant Bronze Age archaeology of Must Farm. \nThere’s a chance to have your say in coming weeks. As well as at Jay’s FRAG talk there will be a series of drop-in events at the museum where you can get up close to artefacts\, meet the project team\, and share your ideas about how the story of the “Pompeii of the Fens” should be told. \nFREE for FRAG Members \nNon-members welcome – £5 cash\, payable on the night\n(card payment not currently possible) \nThe Venue for FRAG Talks is: \nUniversity Centre Peterborough\nPark Crescent\nPE1 4DZ \nWhat3words:  https://w3w.co/grants.liner.slime \nThis is NOT the new university building in the centre of the city\, but is on a shared campus with Peterborough College and is accessed from Park Crescent. \nThere is on-site parking available. \nThe lecture theatre is on the first floor; a lift is available. \nGoogle Map
